Hibiscus micranthus var. micranthus
Hibiscus gossypinus DC.Hibiscus micranthus var. genninus Hochr.Hibiscus micranthus* Linn. f.Hibiscus purpureus* sensu Chiov.
Undershrub, up to 70 cm tall. Branches straight, scabrous, with appressed hairs. Petiole 5-20 mm long; blade ovate, 20-45 mm long, 15-40 mm broad. Pedicel 1-4 cm long.
Holotype: Herb. Linn. n. 875.2 (LINN!).
Distribution Tropical Africa, S. Africa, Madagascar, Arabia, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
In Pakistan it is common in Sindh and occasionally found in Baluchistan and N.W.F.P.
