A compact deciduous shrub, about 0.5-1 m tall. Lateral branches short c. 1-3 cm long, sturdy, becoming somewhat spinescent, glabrous. Leaves 3-7 x 2-5 mm sub-ovate-round or broadly elliptic, glabrous on both side, acute or shortly mucronate; brownish to greyish above and pale green beneath with 3-4(-5) pairs of lateral nerves. Petiole short 0.5-2 mm long, glabrous; stipules 1.5-2 mm long, persistent, acuminate, lanceolate, somewhat scarious. Inflorescence axillary, 3-flowered, rarely solitary. Flowers 1.5-2 x 2.5-3 mm, pedicelled. Calyx 5-lobed, lobes 2-2.5 mm long, much longer than the petals, acute, glabrous. Petals, 5, 1-1.5 mm long, spathulate. Stamens and style not protruding beyond the petals. Drupe oblong, 6-8 x 2-2.5 mm long, red with persistent calyx.

Fl. Per: May-July.

Holotype: Kurram: Shalozan, 24.9.1879, Aitchison 337 (LE); isotype (K).

Distribution: Endemic to Pakistan. (Quetta, Ziarat & North Waziristan.).
