Mastostigma varians Stocks
Plants 8-20 cm tall, branches pubescent. Leaves fleshy, 2.5-7 x 1.8-5 cm, lower rotund ovate, subcordate, obtuse or retuse, upper elliptic acuminate, margin slightly wavy; petiole 6-22 .mm long. Flowers in subsessile umbellate 2-8 flowered cymes, fragrant. Pedicels short. Calyx hairy, divided almost to the base, lobes 3.4 mm long, linear acute. Corolla white or yellow, 6-7 mm long, glabrous, lobes 3-5 mm long, obtuse. Corona lobes c. 2.5 mm long, entire or bifid. Follicles 2.5-5 cm long, ellipsoid, covered with spines and minutely canescent. Seeds 4-6.6 mm long, broadly ovate, acute, flat with papery margin, coma 1.2-1.3 cm long, white.
