    Stem and branches glabrous. Leaves orbicular, 3-10 cm long, emarginate, glabrous or punctate, lower surface often glaucous and densely punctate; lamina 5-7-palmatisect or partite, segments ovate-oblong. Flowers monoecious or dioecious. Male flowers in raceme of 12-30 flowers; peduncle 10-25 cm long, pedicels filiform,10-15 mm long, male calyx-tube narrowly obconic, 7-8 mm broad, puberulous, base shortly glandular. Corolla deeply 5-lobed, puberulous, lobes ovate-triangular, acute, yellowish green. Stamens free; filaments hairy, 1.5-2 mm long; anthers c. 4 mm long. Female flowers in simple or branched racemes, 1-8 cm long; pedicel 2-6 mm long. Style ± exserted, stigmas bilobed. Fruit 6-7 mm long. Seeds yellow or dark brown, c. 6 mm long and c.-2.5 mm thick.

    Type: Afghanistan, Badghis, Aitchison 339 (K, holotype).

    Distribution: Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan and Russia.
