Fronds free floating on surface of water, boat like, wider near the surface, 0.5-0.8 x 0.2-0.5 mm, 2-3 times as deep as wide, whitish green on the upper side with intensely green margins. Flowering specimens not seen.

Holotype: Australia, New South Wales, north west of New Castle, c. 8 km west of Seaham. March 15, 1970. B.G. Briggs & L.S. Johnson NSW 118434 (ZT).

Distribution: Australia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India (Calcutta), and Pakistan.
