In the recent Conspectus of the Soviet C Asian species (Tuljaganova, l.c.), Ziziphora clinopodioides is recognized as a widespread species and among its many synonyms is given this subspecies. Also in this Conspectus, Ziziphora pamiroalaica Jux. is given independent specific rank, in contrast to the treatment above where it is considered as a synonym of subsp. pseudodasyantha. These discrepancies emphasise the outstanding need for collating the taxonomy, in so many genera, of C Asiatic and Himalayan Floras and revisions. Kazmi (Pak. Journ. For. 3: 5. 1953) gives the vernacular name for the species in the Kalat area as "Purchink".
