Suberect-prostrate, annual herb, c. 10-15 cm long. Stem slender, filiform,± quadrangular, simple or few branched at the base, glabrous. Leaves 4-6 in a whorl, 1-1.5 cm long, linear-narrowly lanceolate, acuminate and aristate, minutely scabrid, always. longer than internodes, midrib and lateral nerves obscure. Inflorecence shorter than the internodes, 3-flowered; peduncle with 2 subulate bracts at the tip. Corolla yellow, lobes lanceolate and acuminate. Ovary glabrous. Fruit glabrous, on recurved pedicels.
Type: Kashmir at Poosiana, 8500 ft, C.B. Clarke 28766A (K).
Distribution: Kashmir and Punjab (Murree hills).
