  • Galium palustre M. Bieb.

    Stem slender, erect, 50-70 (-80) cm long, main stem quadrangular, minutely scabrid, lateral branches rather smooth. Leaves 4-6 in a whorl, linear-lanceolate, (19-) 25-30 x 2-3 mm, margin recurved, with antrorsely papiliform teeth, apex cuspidate-acute, midrib distinct, glabrous-minutely scabrid. Inflorescence divaricate, much branched axillary and terminal panicle, ovoid, branches glabrous or papillose, pedicel 1-2 (-3) mm long. Corolla white-yellowish green, c. 2 mm in diameter, lobes lanceolate, shortly apiculate. Fruit 1-1.5 mm, spheroid-ovoid, ± glabrous or papillose.

    Fl. Per.: Aug.-Sept.

    Type: Described from Astrakhan.

    Distribution: Russia (Lower Volga, Dagestan), Pakistan.

    Recorded for the first time from Pakistan.
