Lateral nectar glands varying; middle present or absent. Hairs simple or none. Stamen filaments not appendaged. Ovary often elliptic with very short gynophore; stigma capitate or bilobed. Fruit large, broadly elliptic, broadly septate, dehiscent or indehiscent. Radicle accumbent.
