Inflorescences: most proximal bracts of inflorescence obtuse to mucronate, usually much shorter than inflorescence. , apex obtuse to mucronate. Capsules well exserted from perianth, 4.5--7 mm, apex conic or rounded proximal to persistent style.

Flowering and fruiting late spring--early summer. Wet gravelly soils of snowmelt basins; 400--3800 m; Greenland; N.W.T., Nunavut, Yukon; Alaska, Colo., Mont., Wyo.; Eurasia.
