13a. Tillandsia fasciculata var. fasciculata
Inflorescences palmate, slightly stipitate, with short sterile bracteate base, spikes rarely less than 10 cm. Floral bracts 3 cm--4.8 cm.
Flowering spring--summer. Epiphytic on a variety of hosts, hammocks; 0--30 m; Fla.; Mexico; West Indies; Central America; South America.
This variety is very difficult to find in Florida and possibly has been eradicated.
