Flowering spring (Mar-May). Open grasslands; 200-1000 m; Calif.
This subspecies grows in the southern Sierra Nevada foothills, the western Tehachapi Mountains, the eastern Outer South Coast Ranges, and the Inner South Coast Ranges.
