Tomentose shrubs. Leaves carnose, alternate, entire or 2-5-fid. Heads terminal, in leafy racemes terminating branches, racemes simple or paniculate, heterogamous, disciform. Outer florets pistillate, 1-seriate. Central florets bisexual, fertile. Involucre sub-hemispheric, densely tomentose, bracts 3-seriate, subequal, carnose. Receptacle hemispheric. Anther-base obtuse; apical appendages large, oblong, obtuse. Achenes oblong, apex truncate, base narrowed, 5-angular. Pappus cormiform, apex lacerate.
One species in eastern Asia.
