Stems erect, 35 cm tall, simple, densely brown villous. Petiole 3-10 cm long. Lower leaves 5 or 6, pseudo-verticillate, ovate-oblong, 3-10×2-6 cm, apex obtuse, base cordate, margins entire or slightly undulate, mucronulate, upper surface green, sparsely pilose along nerves, lower surface pale and villous. Heads racemosely arranged, peduncle 5-8 mm long, densely puberulous, bracteoles few; involucres tubular, 9×4-5 mm, bracts in many series, scarious, outer ovate, ca. 1 mm long; inner narrowly oblong, 2 mm broad. Florets 3; corolla 7-9 mm long. Achenes oblanceolate-oblong, compressed, 4.5×1.5 mm, densely hairy. Pappus ca. 6 mm long, brown, bristles numerous, plumose.
