Stems erect, ca. 40 cm tall, flexuous. Leaves chartaceous, ca. 4, remotely arranged, long petiolate, cordate-reniform, apex obtuse, base auriculate, margins mucronulate, upper surface green, lower surface pale, densely cobwebby. Heads numerous, racemosely or paniculately arranged, peduncle 1-4 mm long. Involucre tubular, 8-12 mm long, not calyculate; bracts 5, narrowly oblong, obtuse, glabrous, 1-2 mm broad. Corolla 8-10 mm long, lobes 1.5 mm long. Achenes 5 mm long, glabrous. Pappus ca. 7 mm long.

Eastern China. Taiwan, locally in the northern mountains, 2,400-3,600 m.
Parasenecio hwangshanica was first recorded from Taiwan by Koyama (1969, as Cacalia hwangshanica). It is similar to P. monantha, but can be distinguished by the 5 involucral bracts (vs. 2 or 3 ) and 5-7 (vs. 1 or 2) florets in each head.
