Sarcanthus viridescens Fukuy.
Stems 20-30 cm long, erect or more or less pendulous, 4-6 mm in diam. Leaves linear, 10-20 cm long, 1.5-2 cm wide, thick, rigid, apex unequally 2-lobed, base cuneate, decurrent, articulated with sheath. Racemes lateral, opposite leaves, sometimes branched, to 15 cm long; peduncle suberect or horizontal, 3 mm in diam., with many minute scales below; bracts scale-like, 1 mm long; pedicel and ovary 4-5 mm long. Flowers yellowish green, with connivent perianths; dorsal sepal obovate-oblong, 4 mm long, 2.5 mm wide, obtuse; lateral sepals similar to dorsal one, concave; petals linear-oblong, 2.5 mm long, 1 mm wide, more or less oblique, obtuse; lip saccate, white, lateral lobes falcate, triangular, 1 mm long, erect, midlobe semi-orbicular, rather fleshy, 1 mm long, sac 2 mm long, with a large appendage on front wall, septate inside; anther broadly ovate; pollinia attached by a slender stipe, viscidium ellipsoid or ovoid.
