Plants 40-60 cm tall. Tuberoids elongate ellipsoid or cylindrical, 2-7 cm long, 1-2 cm thick. Stem straight, 20-40 cm long, 6-8 mm thick, enclosed by several tubular sheaths, with 5-7 leaves clustered on upper part. Leaves oblong or ovate-oblong, 10-15 cm long, 4-5 cm wide, apex acute, decurrent at base, with more or less reticulate venation. Peduncle ca. 10 cm long, few-scaled; rachis 10-15 cm long, densely flowered; bracts lanceolate, 2-3 cm long, long acuminate; pedicel and ovary 1.2-2.5 cm long, glabrous. Flowers green, ca. 3 cm across; dorsal sepal ovate-lanceolate, 10-15 mm long, 3-5 mm wide, acuminate; lateral sepals similar but oblique; petals deeply 2-partite, segments filiform, tortuous, 15-30 mm long, divaricate at ca. 120 degrees; lip 3-partite from base, segments filiform, 15-25 mm long, tortuous, divaricate at ca. 60 degrees, spur cylindrical, 20-25 mm long; column ca. 4 mm long, with globose or ovoid auricles on both sides near base; anther cells parallel but sightly divergent below, base protruding and recurved upward; pollinia oblong, 2 mm long, with slender caudicles nearly as long, attaching to small viscidium; stigmaphore curved upward; rostellum triangular, roof-like, with slender lateral arms positioned above stigma.
