Waldsteinia ternata (Stephan) Fritsch.
Creeping plant with long rhizomes. Leaves mostly basal, long-petiolate, ternate, to 12 cm long, evergreen. Inflorescence of 3-7 bright yellow flowers, up to 20 mm diam. V - new generation of leaves appears April-June. Fl - May-June for 3-5 weeks. P - by division and by seed. Does not produce seeds in the northern regions. Plant in shady sites, on moist soil. Z 4 (3).
Siberia (southwestern regions, Lake Baykal area), the Far East (southern coast of the Sea of Okhotsk, Amur River basin, Primorskiy Region and Sakhalin), northern China, Korea and Japan. Mixed and broadleaved forests, slopes, among shrubs and along stream banks.
