Plants annual, 20-30 cm tall, glabrous. Stem prostrate, simple. Leaves alternate, petiolate; leaf blade rhombic or subrhombic, 2-5 × 1.2-1.6 cm, glabrous, lateral veins 5 or 6 pairs, base cuneate, with stipitate glands, margin serrate, apex acuminate or acute. Inflorescences in upper leaf axils, often 2-flowered; peduncles 2-3 cm. Pedicels ca. 1 cm, slender, bracteate at base; bracts subulate, ca. 3 mm. Flowers yellow, ca. 1.5 cm wide. Lateral sepals 2, yellow-green, ovate-orbicular, small, apex acute. Lower sepal navicular, ca. 2 cm deep, narrowed into an erect spur; spur long, slender; mouth vertical, tip obtuse. Upper petal orbicular, large, ca. 1.3 × 1.5 cm, apex slightly retuse, mucronulate, abaxial midvein thickened; lateral united petals ca. 1.8 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes red spotted, orbicular, 6-7 mm; distal lobes dolabriform, apically retuse; auricle inflexed, narrow. Filaments linear; anthers small, apex acute. Ovary erect, fusiform. Capsule linear, ca. 2 cm. Seeds few, ovoid-globose, ca. 2 mm. Fl. Aug-Sep.
