Impatiens serrulata J. D. Hooker.

Plants annual, 30-70 cm tall, glabrous. Stem slender, simple or branched from base. Leaves alternate, petiolate; leaf blade ovate-lanceolate, 3.5-9 × 1.5-3.5 cm, membranous, ciliate along basal margin, without glands, base broadly cuneate, margin sharply serrate, apex acute or acuminate. Inflorescences axillary, 1(or 2)-flowered; peduncles 1-1.5 cm, slender. Pedicels slender, with setose bracts at middle; bracts persistent, green. Flowers white or yellowish white, with deep purple veins, 1-1.5 cm, 3-5 mm deep. Lateral sepals 2, falcate, small. Lower sepal obliquely navicular, 3-5 mm deep, without spur. Upper petal cucullate, broadly elliptic, apex cuspidate, abaxial midvein thickened; lateral united petals not clawed, 2.5-2.8 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes oblong, ca. 1 cm; distal lobes broadly obovate, falcate basally. Anthers obtuse. Ovary fusiform. Capsule linear, 2-2.5 cm, apex 5-lobed. Seeds many, obovoid, tuberculate. Fl. Jul-Sep. 2n = 14, 15.

Forest understories, shaded moist places on slopes; 2900-3300 m. S Xizang (Gyirong, Nyalam) [Bhutan, India (Sikkim), Nepal].
