Plants annual, 30-80 cm tall, sparsely or densely pubescent. Stem erect, robust, branched. Leaves alternate; petiole 1-2.5 cm, with 2 large globose basal glands; leaf blade lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, 5-10 × 2-3.5 cm, both surfaces pubescent, lateral veins 9-11 pairs, base cuneate, attenuate into petiole, margin serrate, apex acuminate. Inflorescences short, (1 or)2-5-flowered; peduncles 5-15 mm. Pedicels slender, bracteate at middle; bracts setose or setose-lanceolate, pilose. Flowers golden-yellow, to 2.5 cm deep. Lateral sepals 2, orbicular, puberulent on veins, 5-veined. Lower sepal saccate, ± puberulent or with caducous hairs, abruptly narrowed into an incurved, short spur. Upper petal orbicular, abaxial midvein cristate; lateral united petals not clawed, 2-lobed; basal lobes orbicular; distal lobes oblong-dolabriform; auricle inflexed, narrow. Anthers obtuse. Ovary fusiform, densely pubescent. Capsule linear, 2.5-3 cm, pilose. Fl. Jul-Sep.
