Plants annual, 30-60 cm tall, glabrous. Stem erect, branched. Leaves alternate; petiole 2-3 cm; leaf blade ovate or ovate-lanceolate, 3-13 × 1.5-3 cm, thinly membranous, both surfaces glabrous and same in color, lateral veins 6-8 pairs, base cuneate, margin crenate, teeth mucronulate, apex acuminate or long acuminate. Inflorescences in upper leaf axils, corymbose or racemose, few- to more than 10-flowered; peduncles 5-7 cm. Pedicels 1-1.5 mm, slender; bracts persistent, ovate-lanceolate. Flowers yellow, 1.5-2 cm deep. Lateral sepals 2, obliquely ovate or falcate, ca. 3 mm, 3-6-veined. Lower sepal navicular, narrowed into an incurved or involute spur; spur long, to 2 cm. Upper petal obovate-orbicular, cup-shaped, abaxial midvein obtusely cristate; lateral united petals ± clawed, 2-lobed; basal lobes broadly orbicular; distal lobes dolabriform; auricle inflexed. Anthers obtuse. Capsule narrowly fusiform, 1.5-2 cm. Seeds obovoid, tuberculate. Fl. Jul-Sep.
