齿叶凤仙花 chi ye feng xian hua

Plants annual, 10-25 cm, glabrous. Stem erect, simple, often naked in lower part, laxly leafy in upper part. Leaves alternate; petiole 0.5-2.5 cm, slender; leaf blade gray-green abaxially, green adaxially, ovate or ovate-lanceolate, (3-)5-9 × 3-4 cm, thinly membranous, without or with glandular hairs at basal margin, lateral veins 6 or 7 pairs, base cuneate, attenuate into petiole, margin coarsely serrate, teeth mucronulate, apex acute or acuminate. Inflorescences in upper leaf axils, 1-flowered; peduncles shorter than leaves, ca. 2.5 cm. Pedicels fibrous, bracteate above middle; bracts persistent, linear-lanceolate, minute, 1-2 mm. Flowers pink, purple spotted, to 2 cm. Lateral sepals 2, ovate-lanceolate, ca. 5 mm, membranous, 3-veined, base inequilateral, apex long acuminate. Lower sepal red striate, funnelform, ca. 2 cm deep, narrowed into an incurved, short spur; mouth vertical, ca. 1.3 cm wide, tip acute. Upper petal orbicular, ca. 1.2 cm in diam., apex retuse, abaxial midvein fine, apically slightly thickened; lateral united petals shortly clawed, ca. 1.8 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes orbicular, apically 2-lobed; distal lobes oblong, ca. 2 × as long as basal lobes, apex rounded; auricle inflexed, narrow. Filaments broadly linear, very short; anthers acute. Ovary erect, fusiform, 2-3 mm, puberulent. Capsule not seen. Fl. Aug.
