Evergreen trees or small trees, up to 10 m tall, ca. 20 cm d.b.h. Young branchlets gray pubescent and becoming glabrous. Leaves alternate; petiole 10-18 mm; leaf blade narrowly lanceolate or lanceolate to elliptic, 10-13 × 2-3.5 cm, glaucous and along midrib gray-white villous abaxially, midrib near base pubescent adaxially, pinninerved, lateral veins 10-19 pairs, prominent on both surfaces, base rotund or cuneate, apex acuminate or acute. Umbels solitary or in cluster of 2, axillary, male umbel 4- or 5-flowered; peduncle ca. 2 mm, sericeous-pubescent. Pedicel 3-4 mm, gray sericeous-pubescent. Perianth segments 6, ovate. Male flowers: fertile stamens 9; filaments gray villous, of 3rd whorls each with 2 sessile peltate glands at base. Fruit subglobose, 7-8 mm in diam., seated on flat perianth tube; perianth segments persistent, straight and regular; fruiting pedicel 3-4 mm, stout. Fl. Aug-Sep, fr. May-Jun.
