Annual or biennial herbs. Leaf trifoliolate, leaflets toothed, stipules adnate to petiole. Inflorescence an axillary raceme. Calyx teeth 5, unequal. Corolla white or yellow, keel shorter than the wings. Stamens diadelphous, 9+1, anthers uniform. Fruit indehiscent, 1-4-seeded, small, longer than the calyx, sculptured.
A genus of about 25 species, found chiefly in the Mediterranean region and central Asia, represented in Pakistan by 4 species.
