Evergreen trees, 10-25 m tall. Leaves opposite, large, 2-3-pinnate. Flowers, white, in terminal pendant lax panicles. Calyx lobes short. Corolla tubular-infundibuliform, 5-lobed; lobes ± imbricate. Stamens 4, anther 1-celled; staminodes occasional. Capsule elongated, compressed, dehiscing septicidally by 2 valves. Seeds discoid, winged.
A monotypic genus found in S.E.Asia. Cultivated in Pakistan.
