Climbing herb, tomentose. Leaf pinnately trifoliolate, exstipulate; leaflets punctate below, palmately nerved. Inflorescence an axillary raceme. Bracts membranous, hyaline, mostly caducous; bracteoles absent. Calyx lobes obtuse, scarious, ultimately much enlarged, lowermost largest, lateral short and the upper 2 connate to form an emarginate structure. Vexillum with inflexed basal auricle, wings narrow, keel obtuse, incurved. Stamens diadelphous, 9+1, vexillary stamen free, anthers uniform. Ovary subsessile, uniovulate. Fruit enclosed by the calyx, 2-valved.
A genus with 6 species, distributed in India and Africa; represented by a cultivated species in Pakistan.
