Tree. Leaf paripinnate, leaflets a few pairs; stipules small, caducous. InfloreĀ¬scence paniculate corymb ; bract small, deciduous; bracteoles coloured. Hypanthium elongated. Sepals 4, petaloid, subequal, imbricate. Petals absent. Stamens 3-9, free, exserted, filaments elongated, anthers subequal. Ovary stipitate, stipe adnate to the hypanthium; ovules many, style thin, stigma terminal. Fruit elongated, coriaceous or woody, dehiscent. Seeds compressed or subterete.
A genus with about 25 species, distributed in Tropical Asia.
