Tree or shrub with alternate, pinnate leaves. Flowers small, whitish, in terminal bracteate panicles. Calyx 5-lobed. Petals 5, imbricate. Disk annular and broad. Stamens twice as many as the petals. Fruit a globose drupe.
A genus of 30 species found from Mexico to Argentina. Represented in Pakistan by 2 cultivated species.
