  • Dumreichera Hochst. & Steud.

    An undershrub, covered by soft hairs. Leaves deeply cordate, rounded, orbicular or slightly 3-lobed. Flowers axillary, solitary, pedicellate; bracts 3, large, free, cordate, in fruit membranous. Sepals 5, connate. Corolla violet with dark purple centre. Staminal tube 5-toothed above, filaments numerous below the apex. Carpels 5; ovary 5-loculed, each locule 2-ovuled; style branches 5 with capitate stigma. Fruit 5-valved, loculicidally dehiscent capsule. Seed 1 in each locule, hairy.

    Three species, distributed in East Africa, Arabia and Pakistan. Only I species is known from our area.
