Perennial with a short rootstock, producing many fibrous roots, sterns several, flaccid, decumbent, bearing leaf ros ettes, but not rooting. Lower leaves with longer and upper leaves with shorter petioles, all glabrous, as long as wide, suborbicular, horizontally or obliquely tru ncate at base, fairly regularly crenate or crenate-dentate with broadly rounded teeth towards the apex. Peduncle up to 6 (-7) cm, appressed hairy. Flowers solitary, 15-22 mm in diameter, yellow. Sepals glabrous, ovate to ovate-oblong, rounded or obtuse at apex, navicular. Petals obovate to obovate-oblong, about twice as long as the sepals. Achenes c. 1.5 mm, ovate, slightly flattened, with a very narrow wing-l ike margin, inserted on a broadly ovoid to subglobose receptacle with a few short hairs. Style broadly triangular, straight.

Gilgit: A-7 Darkot, 9000', moist place, Shaukat Ali 401 (RAW), Baltistan: B-8 Skardu, E. Nasir & G.L. Webster 5794 (RAW). Distribution: Endemic in the Western Himalaya.
Found near water in the hills up to 3100 m.
