Ferula stewartiana var. afghanica SchulzPeucedanum ovinum Boiss.
Plants 1.5-2 m tall, branched. Stems 1 or 2, glabrous. Leaves 2-3-pinnate; leaf base inflated, ovate, turgid, c. 10 cm long; leaf segments 1-5 mm long, oval to ovate, hispid. Rays few to numerous. Petals yellow. Fruit elliptic, 8-10 mm long; furrows 1-vittate; commissure 4-8-vittate.
Type: Iran, Persepolis, Kotschy 283 (G-Boiss.); Isotype (W).
Distribution: Iran, Afghanistan, USSR, W. Pakistan.
