Hymenolaena govaniana DC.
Plants 15-30 cm tall. Tap root c. 1 cm thick. Stem base fibrous. Leaves radical and cauline, 1-2-pinnate; pinnae pinnatifid. Involucre of 5-6 divided foliaceous bracts, 2-5 cm long, white margined. Rays 15-25,2-10 cm long. Involucel of many pinnately divided, white margined bractlets, longer than the flowering umbellet. Fruit ellipsoid, 5 mm long, 2.5 mm broad; fruit wall lax, papillose; ridges winged; furrows 1-vittate; commissure 2-vittate. Inner seed face grooved.
Type locality: Described from the Himalayas.
Distribution: India, W. Pakistan.
This species grows at high altitudes from 3000-4500 m. It is rare in our area.
