Tufted perennial, 6-9 cm. Stems many, ascending to decumbent, glandular-pilose, sparse at the base, becoming dense upwards. Leaves 5-15 x 3-5 mm, to lanceolate, pilose, apex subacute to obtuse, base sessile. Flowers 1-3. herbaceous, lanceolate. Pedicel densely glandular-pilose, longer than the Sepals 4-6 mm, elliptic, with a scarious margin, glandular-pilose. Petals white, c. 1½ times longer than the sepals, bilobed at apex. Styles 5. Capsule almost twice the length of the sepals, teeth 10, flat. Seeds subreniform, tuberculate.

Distribution: E. & W. Siberia, C. Asia, N. Pakistan.
Found in alpine meadows or stony places up to 4200 m.
