A tall undershrub, branches glabrous. Leaf imparipinnately compound, c. 10-17 cm long, leaflets 17-25, c. 1.2-2.6 cm long, round elliptical-ovate, obtuse, glabrous on both sides; stipules c. 2.5-3.8 cm long, free, foliaceous. Inflorescence an axillary, pedunculate raceme, c. 15-30 cm long. Bracts linear, glabrous. Pedicel c. 2-3.5 mm long. Calyx c. 9-10 mm long, mouth oblique, teeth c. 3 mm long. Corolla yellow. Vexillum c. 1.8-2.0 cm long, slightly exceeding the wings and keel, glabrous. Fruit c. 2.5-4.0 cm long, c. 6-8 mm broad, ensiform, glabrous, bilocular, 12-18-seeded; stipe c. 9-10 mm long.

Holotype: Bank of Rapti, Hamilton (K-W).

Distribution: Pakistan (Punjab, N.W.F. Province, Baluchistan); Kashmir; India (Punjab, Kumaon); Afghanistan; China; (Yunnan.).
