Perennial, erect, stem appressly white pubescent. Leaf imparipinnately compound, c. 2-5 cm long, pubescent; leaflets 11-17, c. 2-5 mm long, oval to rotund-oval, rarely oblong-oval, appressed hairy, obtuse; stipules c. 3-6 mm, connate, encircling the stem. Inflorescence 6-20 flowered, pedunculate dense raceme; peduncle c. 2.5-5.2 cm long. Bracts c. 2-3 mm long, white and black pubescent. Pedicel very short. Calyx c. 8-10 mm long in flowers, c. 10-12 mm long and spherical oval in fruit, densely pubescent, hairs white and black, teeth c. 1 mm long. Corolla volet. Vexillum c. 15-18 mm long. Wing c. 15-17 mm long. Keel c. 14-16 mm long. Fruit c. 5-10 mm long, c. 3.5 mm broad, white and black-pubescent, hairs spreading, partly bilocular; stipe less than 1 mm long.

Type in Moscow. Cotype (LE).

Distribution: Kashmir; India (N.Punjab); Tibet; Russia (Dzungaro-Tarbagatai, Tien Shan).
