Very similar to Euphorbia indica, differing chiefly in being completely glabrous, and in having the leaves narrower and narrowing to an acute or subacute apex.

Holotype: India, specimen no. 630/4 in Herb. Linn. (LINN).
Distribution: A native of the New World tropics introduced into many parts of the old world tropics and subtropics; humus-rich soils; near sea-level.
