Saxifraga asiatica Hayek
This asiatic subspecies is distinguished by its leaf cilia which are longer towards the base of the leaf, becoming smaller and spine-like in the apical region. Lozina-Lozinskaya, Fl.URSS.9:198.1939, however, states that this character is not always maintained.

Syntype: Described from Turkestan, Alatau & Tibet.
Distribution: Alpine and subalpine regions of Siberia, Turkestan and Himalayas.
Found here in the Karakorum and upper Kaghan areas at c. 4400 m elevation.
