Decumbent undershrub, woody at base, c. 1-1.5 m high. Leaves 4-10 x 2-4 cm, ovate, lanceolate, ± acute, entire, soft pubescent; petiole c. 5 mm long; stipules with 3-9 setae, 2-9 mm long. Inflorescence a single cluster, consisting of a terminal and axillary component. Flower ± sessile, pale purple or white, 2-2.5 mm long. Calyx tube c. 2 mm long and 1.5-2.5 mm wide, lobes unequal, larger 5-10 mm, smaller c. 1-3 mm long, hairy. Corolla hairy outside; tube slender, 15-25 cm long; throat very hairy, 2-3 mm broad and 3-5 mm long, lobes 4-8 mm long and 1.5-2.5 mm wide. Stamens 4, ± sessile, inserted below the villous throat of the corolla, anthers filiform, c. 2 mm long. Fruit obtriangular, 4-6 mm long and broad, beak 1-2 mm.
