Hedysarum strobiliferum Baker
Shrubby undershrub, several feet tall, stem pubescent, hairs short, spreading. Leaf imparipinnately compound, c. 7-15 cm long, leaflets 13-17, c. 1.2-2.0 cm long, oblong, obtuse, glabrescent above, finely white pubescent below; stipules lanceolate, free. Inflorescence axillary peduncled raceme, peduncle c. 5-10 cm long. Bracts lanceolate. Pedicel c. 2-2.5 mm long. Calyx c. 6-7 mm long, finely pubescent, oblique at the mouth, teeth deltoid, less than 1 mm long. Vexillum c. 12-14 mm long, glabrous. Fruit c. 1.2-1.3 cm long, glabrous, 6-10-seeded; stipe longer than calyx.

Holotype: Cultivated in Chiswick gardens from seeds received from Nepal in 1925 (CGE).
Distribution: Pakistan (N.W.F.P., Punjab, Kashmir); India (N.Punjab, Kumaon, Garhwal); Nepal.
