Stem angles smooth or minutely to strongly scabrid. Leaves linear-lanceolate, oblong or oblanceolate, scabridulous on margin and midrib beneath, otherwise glabrous all over.

Type: from a plant cultivated at Botanic Gardens Calcutta, brought from Nepal by Mr. Gardner 1818 (K).
Distribution: Himalayas, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan and China.
