Digitaria californica (Benth.) Henr. in Blumea. 1:99. 1934. (Trichachne californica (Benth.) Chase in J. Wash. Acad. Sci. 23:455. 1933) is a native of the Americas cultivated at Kotdiji Agricultural Farm (S.M.H. Jafri 1124 (K)). The dense racemes are appressed to an elongated axis longer than themselves and the spikelets are covered with long silky hairs. It is known as Cotton top in the United States.
