Annual, 20-60 cm tall, erect, branched above, pubescent with short, branched, somewhat rough hairs. Basal leaves oblong-lanceolate, stalked, 3-10 cm long, 1-2 cm broad; cauline leaves linear-oblong, sessile, auricled, amplexicaul, 1-8 cm long, 3-15 mm broad. Racemes 30-50-flowered, up to 30 cm long in fruit. Flowers c. 4 mm across, yellow; pedicel up to 10 (-14) mm long in fruit, spreading. Sepals c. 2 mm long. Petals c. 3 mm long, 1 mm broad. Stamens c. 2:2.5 mm long. SilicuĀ¬lae lentiform-subspherical, c. 2 mm in diam. (excl. c. 1 mm long, stalk-like style with a minute portion of valves at base), glabrous; valves with a distinct mid-nerve, reticulately veined; seed c. 1.5 mm in diam.,brown.

Type: Described from E. Caucasus.
Distribution: S. Europe, N.W. Africa, S.W. & C. Asia, N.W. Himalaya and Pakistan.
Only recognisably distinct in fruit from Neslia paniculata (L) Desv. (Nyagrum paniculatum L.,Sp.P1.641.1753) by its umbonate or distinctly apiculate fruit apex.
