Perennial up to 40 cm. Stem erect to ascending, white tomentose. Leaves linear-lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, covered with dense white woolly pubescence. with scarious margins. Flowers in cymes. Sepals 6-7 mm, tomentose. Petals twice the length of the sepals. Capsule teeth flat with revolute margins.
Fl. Per.: May-June.
Syntype: 603.27 LINN, Herb. Burser XI: 106b(UPS).
Distribution: Cultivated.
Distinct from other Cerastium species in its dense white pubescence. Cultivated and also found as an escape.
