Plants 50 cm to 1 m tall. Root long tap root. Lower leaves much divided, bipinnate; pinnae 3-lobed, pinnatisect; lobes linear to lanceolate; upper leaves shorter; segments linear. Umbels numerous, small. Involucre of 5 linear pubes-cent bracts. Rays 3-12, 1-1.5 cm long, pubescent. Involucel of 5 white margined, pubescent, linear to lanceolate bractlets, margin ciliate. Petals white, pubescent. Ovary densely pubescent; stylopodium conical; styles c. 1 mm long. Fruit ovoid, 2 mm long, 1.5 mm broad, pubescent; fruit ridges not prominent; furrows 2-3-vittate; commissure 2-4-vittate. Inner seed face plane.
Type: Murree Hills, R.R. Stewart 4109 (Holotype, K; Isotype, RAW).
Distribution: W. Pakistan.
A common species growing in dry, sometimes rocky places from 700 to 2500 m. The roots are scented.
