Heracleum afghanicum Kitam.
Stem stout, c. 9 mm thick, deeply striate. Upper leaves simple, trilobed; lobes toothed; apex acute; leaf base broad, oblong, 8-10 cm long, pubescent. Involucre lacking. Rays c. 25, minutely pubescent, 3-6 cm long. Involucel of linear to lanceolate bractlets, 2-5 mm long. Flower pedicels c. 1 cm long. Calyx teeth minute. Outer petals 8-10 mm long. Styles short, erect. Fruit pedicel c. 2.5 cm long. Fruit pubescent, elliptic.
Type: Kurram, Aitchison 760 (K).
Distribution: Afghanistan, W. Pakistan.
