Psylliostachys hymenostegia Rech. f. & Koeie
Annual herb. Leaves all basal, + entire to deeply pinnatisect, lobes tri¬angular, finely cuspidate, glabrous. Scapes several, exceeding the leaves bearing dense, simple, sub-erect spikes. Spikelets 3-7-flowered, 2-bracteate. Bracts sub-equal. Outer bract triangular-lanceolate, scarious except for the nerve, aristate; inner bract + obovate, herbaceous, narrowly scarious-margined, strongly concave. Calyx infundibuliform, tube 2 times longer than the limb, 10-ribbed, in the lower part glandular hairy; limb 5-lobed, scarious, lobes broadly triangular, 5-nerved; nerves excurrent into long aristae. Corolla white.
