Caesalpinia enneaphylla Roxb.
Woody prickly climber, leaves 21-30 cm long, bipinnate, pinnae 16-22, 5-7.5 cm long, generally a prickle present on rachis between 2 pinnae, leaflets 18-20 per pinna, minutely petiolulate, 9-15 mm long, 6-9 mm wide, oblong to obovate, tip obtuse, mucronate and retuse. Panicle up to 30 cm long. Pedicel 1.2-1.6 cm long. Calyx 6-8 mm, glabrous. Corolla bright yellow. Stamens 10, free, slightly larger than calyx, densely woolly at the base. Pod 7.5-11 cm long, 2.0-3.5 cm broad, wing along the length of the pod, 7 mm broad.
A native of Bengal, Burma, Malaya Isles; cultivated as a garden tree in some parts of W. Pakistan.
