Pachypterygium afghanicum GilliPachypterygium leptoloma Rech.f.
Annual, 10-40 cm tall, erect, branched, glabrous, subglaucous, sometimes entire plant violaceous except the siliculae. Basal leaves withering soon, oblong-lanceolate, entire, amplexicaul, auricled at base; cauline leaves linear-lanceolate, 1-5 cm long, 3-10 mm broad, ± similar to basal leaves; all leaves often sparsely hairy at the apex with simple hairs. Racemes 15-30-flowered, up to 10 cm long in fruit, ebracteate. Flowers 3-4 mm across, yellow; pedicel 5-8 mm long in fruit, filiform, often deflexed. Sepals 1.5-2 mm long, c. 1 mm broad. Petals c. 4 mm long, 1.5 mm broad, oblong-obovate, cuneate below, apex subrounded. Stamens c. 2:2.5 mm long; anthers c. 0.5 mm. Siliculae broadly elliptic, 5-7 mm long, 3-5 mm broad, flattened; wing very narrow, uniform, ± ciliately hairy with simple, short hairs; locule glabrous or minutely hairy; seed c. 2.5 mm long, 1 mm broad, oblong-ellipsoid, brownish.

Type: Pakistan: Baluchistan, Sinkach, Harsukh 20464 (CAL).
Distribution: Afghanistan and Pakistan.
