Perennial, 15-30 (-40) cm tall, erect, much branched from the base with branches hoary, thin; hairs 2-3-partite and appressed. Radical leaves densely rosulate, linear to narrowly oblanceolate, 20-40 (-60) mm long, 1-2 (-3) mm broad, entire, acute, stalked; cauline leaves linear, shortly stalked to sessile, smaller. Racemes 20-40-flowered, up to 20 cm long in fruit. Flowers c. 6 mm across, yellow; pedicels up to 2 (-3) mm long in fruit, ascending. Sepals c. 5 mm long. Petals c. 10 mm long, 2-2.5 mm broad, long-clawed. Stamens c: 5 : 7 mm long; anthers c. 2 mm long. Siliquae linear-terete, 25-40 mm long, c. 1 mm broad, usually straight, erect, hoary; valves with a distinct mid-rib; style c. 1.5 mm long with bilobed, capitate stigma; seeds many, c. 1 mm long, oblong.

Fl. Per.: May- June.

Type: Iran, Persepolis, Kotschy 261 (W, K).

Distribution: Iran and Pakistan.

Hoary appearance with grass-like narrow leaves and narrow siliquae on very short pedicels are distinctive.
